96 Days: Happy St. Patrick's Day!

What a beautiful day! The high was 74 and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We spent most of the day outside, and when we were inside we were writing limericks and listening to Celtic music, which Allie and I have developed a love for. :) I love Pandora. :) Allie and Maggie both came up with some pretty funny limericks. We've also been doing Color Poems this week, in conjunction with learning about similes and metaphors. Color poems are primarily metaphorical and paint pictures of what those colors mean to the writer. Here are a few of Allie's:

Turquoise
Turquoise is the sky at twilight.
Turquoise is a lively firework.
Turquoise is a bright crayon.
It is a spool of thread that will soon become a dress.
Turquoise is the endless ocean.
Turquoise is my favorite color.

Orange
Orange is a fruit waiting to be picked.
Orange is a sunset with purple and pink.
Orange is a pearly conch shell.
Orange is a dainty topaz crystal.
It is an autumn forest, a vibrant frog, some lively coral.
Orange is. . . orange.

She also made a weather forecaster at AHG today that was really cool:

Penelope reached two big milestones out of the blue today: She graduated to a "big girl swing"- a sudden thing, since just yesterday she would only swing in the baby swing- and while she was swinging, she very nonchalantly counted to THIRTEEN. Yes, my barely-two-year-old counted from one to thirteen like it was nothing. While swinging in a big girl swing. She's growing up! *sniff*

Rosemary took several naps since we were wearing ourselves out swinging and playing. I love my sweet little sleeper. . .

She's not feeling well tonight, probably because every time I looked at her outside she was eating grass. Better go check on my sweet baby. Good night!

  1. Grass - its what all the babies are into these days. Stella likes to mix in a little pine bark mulch too.

  2. Well, grass makes dogs throw up. Don't know for sure about babies.
