Setting My Face Like Flint

Having the gift of time this week :), I have been reading up on all the uproar in the legal systems of the United States concerning homeschooling. Until now, persecution has been seen mainly in other parts of the world, but it appears to be hitting closer to home now. An article in The Baptist Press this week discussed the case in New Hampshire where a judge ruled a child be sent back to public school because she was being "brainwashed" by her conservative Christian mother. What a sad commentary on the value system of the world today. Don't teach your children about the Bible or God or absolute truth! You will brainwash them and ruin them! We want them to be like everyone else! It reminds me of the passage of Scripture in John 3 that calls Jesus the light of the world and that the world didn't like that light but would rather keep living in darkness. I don't know about you, but I don't want my children living in darkness. God has called me to disciple them and train them to hope in the glory of God. I don't know how long I will be allowed to teach and train my children in the home, but until the day I am forced to do otherwise, I am resolved to teach them God's principles unapologetically and unrelentingly. I won't take a day for granted that I am given to disciple them. May I not miss a moment!
