Getting Well

We are on the mend, I can feel it. I just went to Earth Fare and got eucalyptus oil to put in the humidifier we got for Penny and Rosie's room. I also got an herbal immunity support for kids and cough/cold support that even the baby can take. They are all-natural and free of side effects, which I love. (Drug commercials really crack me up. I mean seriously, I saw one for Lunesta the other night and at first was thinking, "Wow, I need some of that" since with this sickness has come insomnia. However, 90% of the commercial was spent explaining the "possible side effects", which included dry mouth, constipation, headaches, hallucinations, and an increased risk of suicide. Seriously?? All for a good night's sleep?? I'd rather try counting sheep or drinking chamomile tea, thankyouverymuch. But I digress. . . :)) When we got home, I had all the children take their regular Juice Plus and Vitamin C, along with Emergen-C and the immune building stuff. Now they are taking naps to the eucalyptus-scented humidifier. Surely we are on the mend.

We're also eating lots of soups, thanks to good friends. I had to miss a Christmas Eve party I was really looking forward to at my friends the Penns house because I was sick. They sent Brian home with a plate of food for me, including some potato/broccoli/cheddar soup that was DELICIOUS. Later that night they sent me some more soup since they knew I loved it! Yesterday Brian brought home some WONDERFUL soup from Olive Garden that we can eat on for a few days. And minutes after we got home from Earth Fare today, my sweet friend Christie showed up with a huge bowl of her famous Stuffed Pepper Soup. YUM!!!!! What a wonderful surprise. That truly made my day. It was hot and ready to eat. I added a little garlic to it since I had also heard garlic was good for getting well, and that made it about the most delicious thing I'd eaten in a lifetime. Christie ROCKS!! :) Stuffed Pepper Soup with extra garlic to eat, Mangosteen Mate and Hibiscus Tea to drink- sounds like a winning lunch to me.  I picked up a few Thai curry soups at Earth Fare that sound like they will open up my sinuses :), so now we have Stuffed Pepper Soup, Thai Curry Soup, and something like Zuppa Toscana from Olive Garden. I feel like God, via some very precious people,  has given us everything we need for getting well. Thanks God! And thanks friends!
